Boy and the Hudd!
RAPPER Pharaoh Got1 is vying to make a splash on the music scene - and is hoping to take as much Huddersfield talent with him as possible.
Since signing to record label LUMA, Pharaoh Got1, AKA Amr Soliman, has gone out of his way to include as many Huddersfield creatives as possible.
The engineering graduate’s latest single is titled HUDDS UP, which is about Amr’s love for Huddersfield and the people in it.
The music video was a collaboration between Huddersfield-based dancers and assisted by local videographer, Grit Multimedia.
Amr said: “I’ve been passionate about hip hop since a young age.
“I was born in Egypt and moved around a fair bit but I moved to Huddersfield and it’s my home - that’s where Pharaoh Got1 came from.
“I’m an engineering graduate and work for an engineering company to fund my career.
“It’s about time management and since signing to LUMA records, it allows me to focus.”
He’s released eight singles since the beginning of 2021, even through lockdown.
His latest project is to create a Huddersfield playlist, including every artist based in Huddersfield.
He continued: “It’s important for Huddersfield creatives, to put Huddersfield
on the map.
“Hudds Up advertised, treasured Huddersfield so now I’m curating a Huddersfield playlist, with every artist based in Hudds.
“The scene is coming together and I think it’ll be a domino effect.
“We want to showcase the talent, let people shuffle the playlist for the talent.”
Pharaoh Got1’s single Hudds Up was released on September 9 and is available on Spotify, Amazon Music, Apple Music, Tidal, Deezer and Youtube.
His singles include PRE SEASON, Kickback, KODAK, Tshhh, GET MINDES, MOOD SETTER FREESTYLE and ROTTEN.
Pharaoh Got1 was previously known as AMR and is known for specialising in songwriting, producing, recording, and performing modern urban music in the styles of hip-hop/rap, grime and trap.
