Create your own garden wildlife that rocks!

-

Add some colour to your outside space with these painted rock critters.

They look great sitting in plant pots or borders.

YOU WILL NEED METHOD

1. Think of the creature you would like to make and choose a pebble that is a suitable shape. Check a wildlife book or website for inspiration.

2. Clean your pebble and leave it to dry. Paint it all over with a primer or gesso to create a more even surface, but you can skip this step if you don’t have either of these.

3. Draw your creature onto the stone with a pencil Mark in features such as eyes. 4. Paint your creature with acrylic paints. Add the main areas of colour first, leave to dry, then add outlines and details.

5. Acrylic paint is water resistant and can stand being outside for a short while but if you want a longer-lasting finish, apply a coat of varnish to seal it.
