Edwards says he now feels at home after

HUDDERSFIELD Giants Supporters Association want fans to carry on ‘falling in love’ with the Claret and Gold.

The group called for the Cowbell Army to make themselves heard in their last home game against Leeds Rhinos, with Block 7 being used as a base for supporters who wanted to help generate a better atmosphere at the John Smith’s Stadium.

Following the success of that scheme, the HGSA now want all fans to bring scarves and flags to all Giants matches, starting with tomorrow’s visit to Hull KR, to wave as the teams come out and herald them with a chorus or two of ‘Can’t help falling in love’.

“HGSA would like to thank all supporters for their help in contributing to the atmosphere at our magnificent win over

Leeds Rhinos and to those who made the move to Block 7 to recreate the electric atmospheres at Elland Road and Tottenham Hotspur Stadium,” said a statement from the group.

“To continue this positive momentum, we are asking all fans to dig out scarves, flags and banners again and bring them to the next few games.

“We want to create a sea of claret and gold in the stands at Hull KR, Castleford, Newcastle, St Helens and, of course, for our next home game against Warrington.

“The idea being that fans hold up scarves and flags as the team comes out and as the game kicks off while singing along to ‘Can’t help falling in love’ and also during the game and, hopefully, build up the level of support, vocally and visually, in the run up to the play offs and beyond!

“The HGSA are extremely keen for the fans to join in, again, in Block 7 at home games, but also on the road too, starting at Hull KR on Sunday.

The vocal support will be locating themselves at the back 5/6 rows of Block 2 of the Colin Hutton Stand.

“It’s unreserved seating, so anyone wishing to join in the fun can feel free to head for that area.

“Also for the Magic clash with Salford at Newcastle’s St James’ Park, the Cowbell Army are planning on congregating in blocks L2Q and L2R which are unreserved seating in the Leazes Stand.”

HUDDERSFIELD Giants’ Kenny Edwards has signed a three-year deal to join Castleford Tigers.

The Examiner reported earlier this week that the second-rower was close to committing his future to the Tigers beyond this season after positive talks were held between the player and the club.

Edwards, 32, has been on a season-long loan at Wheldon Road from the Giants, but has made a huge impression since linking up with Lee Radford’s side.

He has been one of their standout players and with his contract at the John Smith’s Stadium expiring at the end of the campaign, Edwards has been a high-priority retention target for Castleford.

The New Zealander said his decision to commit to the club was driven by his family becoming settled in West Yorkshire, having admitted at one point he was planning to return back home Down Under.

He said: “It was a hard decision but one I’m comfortable with now.

“My kids were missing family and the missus wanted to head home. As the year has gone on, my partner started to come around and enjoy it here.

“Parramatta was my home and is all I’d known in the NRL.

“I didn’t leave there on the best terms and it was hard for me to move on mentally.

“Since then I’ve struggled to find somewhere I belong.

“I spent a couple of years at Catalans and then I was at Huddersfield.

“This feels like home to me and where I belong. I’ve only been here
