HUDDERSFIELD town centre is set to get a very classy addition to its nighttime economy tomorrow at 5pm when Harvey’s opens its exclusive bar/restaurant in Westgate.

It will be the third Harvey’s to open in the town.

The first one opened several years ago on Penistone Road, Fenay Bridge, and proved so successful that within months a £1m extension was necessary to cope with demand.

The second one is based in Holmfirth opposite the bus station in what used to be Brambles.

The Westgate branch which used to be the shortlived TriBeca restaurant has taken some time to open with planning consent from Kirklees Council taking over a year to be approved.

This was because the new restaurant has incorporated the former newsagents next door which was listed.

Co-owner Simon Docherty said he was delighted with the result and was looking forward to welcoming customers tomorrow with much of the restaurant already booked out.
