Updated: Town top 11 player power rankings

- By STEVEN CHICKEN @examinerHTAFC

1. Jonathan Hogg (1): Will be the first name on the teamsheet for every game he is fit and available to start with Warnock valuing his qualities both as a player and a leader.

2. Danny Ward (2): Had already been described as ‘Town’s best player’ by Warnock before he scored his first goal since October off the bench against Millwall - a game he surely would have started had he not been ill.

3. Jack Rudoni (3): One of just three players to have played every single minute under Warnock, and the other two are centre-backs.

4. Tom Lees (5): ‘Hasn’t made a mistake’ since Warnock’s arrival, the manager told us after the Millwall game. Helik has been the better player over the season, but Lees has been the standout defender for Warnock.

5. Michal Helik (4): Thankfully, Warnock doesn’t have to choose between the two, who essentially come as a pair now. Poor Matty Pearson.

6. Tomas Vaclik (15): Back in the side and performing much better after his injury. Lee Nicholls’ return to training is no guarantee that he’ll be available to play again this season, but we’re comfortable with Vaclik now if Nicholls doesn’t make it.

7. Josh Ruffels (13): The shift to a back four with defensive fullbacks is very much to Ruffels’ benefit, and there being no other obvious candidate for the role earns him an artificially high position in the list.

8. Anthony Knockaert (12): Last month we were struggling to work out how Knockaert might fit in, but the recent shift to 4-2-3-1 gives him an obvious place at number 10 once he is able to return from compassionate leave.

9. Josh Koroma (20): One of the surprise packages of the second half of the season, with his hardworking performances on the right wing crucial in allowing Warnock to make a tactical shift that has improved the side. 10. Ben Jackson (26): See: Koroma, Josh, only on the left instead of the right. We weighed up whether Jackson or the currently-injured Jaheim Headley should take this slot, but it’s Jackson’s shirt for now.

11. Rarmani Edmonds-Green (25): Had nudged ahead of Pearson in the pecking order at right-back before being given a different job to do against Millwall.
