FORMER Terriers boss David Wagner has outlined how Narcis Pelach will fit into his backroom staff at Norwich City after the Catalan completed his expected move from the John Smith’s Stadium.

Huddersfield Town assistant coach Pelach resigned from his post last week following reports that he was set to move to Carrow Road, which Norwich subsequently confirmed on Wednesday morning.

Pelach had been at Town for three years after arriving alongside Carlos Corberan and then staying on to work under Danny Schofield, Mark Fotheringham and Neil Warnock, as well as having spells as caretaker boss in between each mid-season change.

The 34-year-old said in a statement on Norwich’s website: “I’m looking forward to working with the players and coaches at the club.

“For me, it’s a pleasure and great opportunity to work with the head coach, David, I have big respect for him. I think he is a top coach.

“My role will be analysing the opponents, find out what they are doing in attack and defence and then try to help him with the gameplan to face them, to prepare the team well. I can’t wait to start.

“For me, it’s a big, big opportunity to be a part of this amazing club. I’m looking forward to starting the season, and helping the team to compete and to win.”

Wagner added: “Narcis is someone who knows the league. He also has experience working in different roles and positions in many environments. He will form a key part of our coaching strategy and player development programmes, working closely with our existing coaching staff.

“On each occasion when I have spoken with Narcis over the last year we’ve had many good and interesting conversations about the game and different ways of working. I know he is an extremely hard worker, passionate about his job and has a good character. I’m delighted to be able to welcome him to our club.”
