Terriers trip inspired dad to pen book

- By ALEX SCAPENS

AN AUTHOR is onto a winner with his latest book after basing it on his son’s famous trip to watch Huddersfield Town play.

Mohammed Bhana, 45, from Batley, has released Five, which was inspired by his son Adam’s visit to the John Smith’s Stadium to see the Terriers beat Manchester United in 2017.

While there he found a £5 note in the John Smith’s Stadium and when he sent it to then club director Sean Jarvis asking him to give it star player Aaron Mooy the youngster went viral on social media.

Now Mohammed features Adam and his other son Ismaeel, 11, in his latest book – both playing the role of superheroes.

He said: “I promised Ismaeel I would write the book. However, the entire process, the character and story development, notwithstanding the proof reading and editing, took me over a year to complete.

“The book explores a plethora of themes and subjects such as superheroes, morality, football, sports entertainment, wrestling, friendships and why parents should ultimately be ideal role models to their children.

“In addition, it is great to see that

Adam and Ismaeel’s heroes come from a variety of backgrounds, countries and faiths.”

The premise for the story is Adam, who will turn 16 this month, returning the £5 note but in the book it is then miraculously returned back to him.

From within it former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill appears to tell the youngster that he is one of very few people who believes in the power of gratitude and is the hero that the world needs.

So he and Ismaeel are bestowed with super powers to fight nemesis the CLAW.

Mohammed, whose previous book The Asian Liverbird was commissioned by Liverpool FC in 2008, also works in PR for design company Project Kahn and Chelsea Truck Company.

He says Five will appeal to people from a variety of backgrounds and generations with the need for kindness a central theme.

Ismaeel was particularly keen for his dad to write a second book as the first was published before he was born and dedicated to Adam.

Five was released on March 1 under the name Mo Bhana and is available on Amazon.
