INJURY ROUND-UP... MURCHIE BACK IN THE

THE Examiner takes a look at Super League injuries across all the clubs:

■■CASTLEFORD TIGERS

Craig Lingard’s side have the biggest injury list at present.

Sam Hall will miss the game against St Helens after failing a HIA and Sam Wood suffered a thumb injury against Leigh Leopards.

George Griffin, Fletcher Rooney and Jason Qareqare are all closing in on returns from respective injuries.

Luis Johnson has a calf injury, Sylvester Namo has another two games of his suspension to serve while Charbel Tasipale and Muizz Mustapha (both knee) are out until June. George Lawler is out for an indefinite spell with a bleed on the brain.

CATALANS DRAGONS

Ben Garcia misses their game with Leeds Rhinos after failing a HIA last week.

Paul Seguier also suffered an injury in that game to his leg and is a doubt. Jordan Dezaria missed the game against Wigan as did Micky McIlorum, though he is free to play after suspension.

■■ HUDDERSFIE­LD GIANTS

Sam Hewitt, pictured centre, and Chris Hill remain some way off fitness but Jack Murchie is in contention to play against Wigan Warriors after a groin injury.

Matty English is set for a spell on the sidelines with a calf injury while Harvey Livett also has a muscular issue.

■■HULL FC

Brad Fash and Mitieli Vulikijapa­ni are two long-term absentees who should be available for selection soon after ankle and ACL injuries respective­ly.

But Carlos Tuimavave is still approximat­ely a month off returning while Jack Ashworth could return by the end of May.

■■HULL KR

Oliver Gildart has suffered a knee injury and is set for a spell out of action. James Batchelor (eye) and Elliot Minchella (groin) are both doubts for the trip to Warrington Wolves.

■■LEEDS RHINOS

Brodie Croft and Riley Lumb are Leeds’ newest injury concerns after coming off with soft tissue injuries against London Broncos. Paul Momirovski has an ankle injury that the club don’t yet know the severity of.

James Bentley has revealed he won’t be able to play due to concussion until the end of July and the same issue means Morgan Gannon still faces another month out. David Fusitu’a won’t return from his latest knee injury until June.

■■ LEIGH LEOPARDS

John Asiata has suffered another injury setback and is out for around six weeks. Gareth O’Brien remains doubtful after a calf injury, Nathan Wilde will be back from a broken collarbone soon and Robbie Mulhern could feature against Salford if he can overcome a calf injury.

Dan Norman will be available if he passes concussion protocols.

■■

Lewis Bienek could return to the fold for the visit of Hull FC on Sunday and the same applies to Dean Parata after a concussion. Jacob Jones will miss Sunday’s game due to a failed HIA.

Longer term, Bill Leyland and Josh Rourke are out for the season while Emmanuel Waine is around a month away.

■■SALFORD RED DEVILS

The Reds suffered two injury setbacks against Huddersfie­ld Giants.

Joe Mellor (hand) and Joe Shorrocks (knee) will both be assessed ahead of their trip to Leigh Leopards.

King Vuniyayawa should return after a concussion but Adam Sidlow and Amir Bourouh are still out of action. ■■ST HELENS

Tommy Makinson should be cleared to play after a bout of chickenpox and Jake Wingfield has a shoulder issue but should be free to return.

Matt Whitley will have a shoulder injury assessed this week.

There are two longer-term issues, Agnatius Paasi is out until June and Alex Walmsley won’t be able to play until September.

■■WARRINGTON WOLVES

Leon Hayes is out for the season after an ankle dislocatio­n and Matt Dufty came off with an ankle issue last week.

Matty Ashton should be free to play against Hull KR after a niggle, but Wesley Bruines and Connor Wrench won’t be available until the end of the month.

Luke Thomas has suffered an ACL injury and is out for the season. ■■WIGAN WARRIORS

The Warriors are looking healthy at present.

Sam Walters came through a reserve grade game and Mike Cooper should be available after a concussion saw him miss the game against Catalans Dragons.

Willie Isa is their only long-term absentee after a serious ankle injury.
