Ferriby look to avenge defeat at Boro

BOLDER SEEKS 90-MINUTE DISPLAY FROM VILLAGERS

-

NORTH Ferriby will be on a revenge mission when they host Scarborough Athletic tomorrow – just 18 days after losing their first meeting 3-1 on the coast.

Tomorrow’s game was originally scheduled for December but with both sides having a blank date, the NPL has brought the Premier Division fixture forward.

Ferriby held their own in the first half but Scarborough upped the tempo and pressure and scored three times in the last 20 minutes.

“We know it is going to be a tough game again but we also know that we can compete with Scarborough if we play as we did for the first half of the earlier match,” said boss Chris Bolder.

“Paul Robson and I obviously know most of the Scarborough squad and that always helps when we consider how to approach a game.

“We will revert to what has been pretty much our regular squad for Saturday.

“We needed to rest some of the players on Tuesday for their own benefit and also to give other players game time.”

Scarborough have started the season well and are sixth, having won four, drawn two and lost one of their seven league games and scored 13 goals and conceded eight.

They had a good 3-1 home win over highly rated Basford United last Saturday and beat Tadcaster Albion 3-2 in the Integro League Cup on Tuesday.

Ferriby were also in League Cup action on Tuesday with a much-changed side losing 3-1 at Marske United.

It was a disappointing result but the Villagers could have no complaints about the outcome.

James Nicholls turned his ankle at Marske on Tuesday but is the only injury doubt, so Bolder should have his full squad to choose from.

Jordan Windass, Ben Bassett, Jake Martindale and Scott Lofas have all been registered by the club.

The first three played at Marske but they may well miss out against Scarborough as Bolder will probably revert to the more familiar squad.
