Shock at Kingswood crime scene

CUSTOMERS were shocked to turn up and see JD Sports in Kingswood had been “broken into” in the early hours of

Saturday morning.

The sports shop was cordoned off by police with the entrance to the store completely blocked off by the tape.

A police van and crime scene investigation van could be seen outside the store on Saturday morning.

Inside the shop hangers could be seen scattered on the floor as well as broken ones strewn across the pavement outside the shop.

The shutters to the shop also appeared to be damaged. It is not known what, if anything, was stolen.

A police officer at the scene said the incident happened in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Joey Esders, seven, and his mum Tammy Knaggs, 35, of Garden Village, got up early to pick up a coat but were disappointed when they saw what had happened.

“We thought it was some sort of murder scene. It was a bit dramatic.”
