A HULL woman battling “extremely bad coronavirus symptoms” says she feels as if she has been left to die having been told she could contract pneumonia.

She already had a range of health problems including a lung disease, but is now in “extreme pain” after being asked to self-isolate by her doctor due to her condition and symptoms.

She has not left her home in more than three months apart from to get medical help.

At one stage, the woman, who does not want to be identified, had to be rushed to Hull Royal Infirmary with pains and breathing difficulties, but was cleared of serious health concerns including a blood clot or heart attack.

Ear pain, a sore throat, chills and sweats, all reported symptoms of Covid-19, followed before her feet even started to turn blue. However, says she has still not been tested.

“I seem to now have a problem with my oxygen or my lungs. My feet are going blue and I’m in bad pain with my lungs. I have a lung disease anyway and I’m not getting any help,” she said.

“I was told I could get a secondary infection, possibility pneumonia, but again no test. My doctor may send me for a scan or X-ray but that’s me going in not tested and I may catch it there.”

However, it is not just her physical health that is suffering.

She says she suffers from mental health issues and has not been able to she eat or clean herself properly.

She claims to be without necessities, including toilet roll and cleaning products, or “proper food”.

“I have not eaten properly or cleaned myself properly - not even a coffee with milk since before I was taken to hospital,” she said.

“I’ve had no shopping since March 20. I cannot get a slot for home delivery. I feel like I am being left to die on my own. I’ve had no one check on me even though I’ve called 111 with symptoms and been in hospital.

“The symptoms can suddenly take a turn for the worst and I’ve just been left and left in a situation were I have had nothing in my cupboards since early March.”

Matters have been made worse by her neighbours “pounding” music through her house from their gardens making it difficult for her to get the rest she needs to try to turn a corner.

“All I see on TV is how people have come together,” she continued.

“I’ve had two small food parcels that last two or three days. I have been extremely ill and I have had people out in their gardens drinking nearly every day, music on pounding through my house with no concern whatsoever.

“My headache was that bad I could not cope. I have been so hungry and I have had boom, boom, boom and people laughing and screaming all day.

“I am still very ill and still can not get shopping or a day’s rest due to how people are behaving. I feel like I have just been left at home on my own suffering and going without, left to die.”
