Hull stars are told: Recharge your batteries
HULL FC players have been told to recharge their batteries and get away if possible this week.
Almost four months have passed since the Black and Whites last took to the field, but with the Super League set to return on August 2, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
FC won’t be in action until the following weekend and will wait until July 20 before returning to their County Road training base for the first time.
Interim head coach Andy Last and his coaching staff will look to put the squad through an intense three-week programme to get them in shape for their round eight fixture over the weekend of
August 8.
With that in mind, though, FC players have been encouraged to make the most of their penultimate week of furlough by spending some quality time with their families.
Some have travelled out of East Yorkshire, knowing when they return they will be expected to dial up the intensity of their preparations significantly.
Since the shutdown of the competition players have been asked to train from home by following individually designed programmes set by conditioner Paul Hatton before sending their workout data to the club.
However, while maintaining a high level of fitness has been stressed, the club has also been keen to see players make use of their time away from the game, allowing bodies to fully heal and a rare opportunity to rest mentally, too. In the week leading up to the first day back in training they will ramp up their own training regimes.
The club will also be running their first round of coronavirus tests next week and regular testing will be carried out as the 2020 campaign progresses.
