Landlady’s fears for regular visitor who has gone missing
Search teams fail to find pensioner
CONCERN is growing for a Goole man last seen at 9am on Sunday.
Robert Bracegirdle, better known to locals as Bob, remains missing, but his dog has been found near the Ferry Boat Inn in Howden.
Humberside Police and Humber Coastguard teams have been searching for him around the River Ouse, with the helicopter circulating overhead.
Stevie Snead, the landlady at The Peacock in Goole, described Mr Bracegirdle, 75, as a “friendly guy”.
She said: “He was a regular in the pub before lockdown. He lives on his own now.
“I opened the pub on October 1 and he’s been in twice since then.
“You could see his mental capacity had deteriorated. He would try to light cigarettes in the pub and once left his shopping behind. He would never have done those things before lockdown, they were out of character for him. I think lockdown has massively affected him.”
She added: “He was a friendly guy, everybody talked to him and he knew everybody.
“He came in the morning, had a couple of pints and then he would walk his dog back to Old Goole.”
Mr Bracegirdle has been described by Humberside Police as about 5ft 9in and of slim build.
He has grey hair that is parted from the left, with glasses and is known to wear a dark anorak, shirt and a jumper with jeans.
He walks unaided “but can appear shaky”.
If you have seen Mr Bracegirdle or have information on his whereabouts, call Humberside Police on 101, quoting log number 298 of October 25.
