Who will get the nod against FC?

-

HULL KR are far from full strength but look in better shape as they prepare for tonight’s derby.

Adam Quinlan, Jez Litten, Greg Minikin and Mitch Garbutt are missing from KR’S first-choice 17, with Ethan Ryan and Jimmy Keinhorst among the other players still sidelined.

But Rovers will welcome back some key men for their third game in eight days.

Kane Linnett is set to come straight back in at centre, with Matt Parcell, George Lawler and Weller Hauraki returning to bolster the pack.

Matty Storton was also named in Tony Smith’s 21-man squad, although he faces a late fitness test.

Jamie Ellis, Dan Murray and Kyle Trout have already dropped out of the team hammered by Wakefield Trinity.

Will Tate started at full-back against Wakefield, giving the teenager another taste of Super League as well as taking Will Dagger out of the firing line to save his legs for the derby.

Rovers could not afford to give Dagger a breather at Belle Vue, with putting him on the wing the next best thing. Smith must decide whether to stick with Tate or recall Nick Rawsthorne.

Both have struggled defensively but Rawsthorne has the greater experience and could get the nod.

Mikey Lewis should partner Jordan Abdull in the halves after playing at full-back and off the bench in recent weeks.

Rovers need to hit FC hard up front to have any chance, which should mean starts for Robbie Mulhern, Lawler and Hauraki. Parcell’s return will see Elliot Minchella move back to loose forward, with Dean Hadley likely to come back into the starting line-up in the second row.

Nathaniel Peteru, George King, and Will Maher should take up three of the bench spots alongside Matty Gee, if Storton doesn’t make it.
