A DIVERSE procession of cars and motorbikes is expected to drive through the streets of Hull ahead of the funeral of teenager Connor Lyons.

17-year-old Connor’s death became the centre of a murder investigation by Humberside Police after he was found near the banks of the River Hull in January.

Cole Jarvis, 21, of Stroud Crescent West in Bransholme, has appeared at Hull Crown Court charged with Connor’s murder. The defendant was informed by Judge John Thackray that a trial date of September 13 would be set.

The procession and funeral service for Connor is due to take place on Wednesday, March 17.

In January, hundreds of vehicles took place in a similar procession around Hull in memory of Connor.

Cars were pictured taking in streets around Hull including 1st Avenue, Stroud Crescent and Greenwood Avenue, while lots of motorcyclists also turned out to join the commemoration.

The locations were chosen so that Connor’s family member’s homes are driven past by the cars during the convoy.

It is believed that a similar route will be taken for the funeral procession in March.

Ryan Allison, co-founder of KANS Racing, a car enthusiast group in Hull, said he expected cars and bikes “of all types” to be present at that event too.

“We get cars from Fiestas to Lamborghinis at events, it all just depends who shows up on the day,” he said.

“Soon I will launch an official event and hopefully we will get some numbers and give Connor an amazing send off.”

It is believed Connor’s family will be leading the convoy.

Leaving from Stroud Crescent East at around 11.20am, the convoy is then expected to arrive in 1st Avenue at 11.40am, before passing Connor’s former home in 8th Avenue at around 11.50am.

From there, Mr Allison said he expects the convoy will travel to 31st Avenue by around 12.10pm, before finishing at Chanterlands Crematorium for the service at 12.30pm.

“Let’s give him another amazing send off,” he told followers on social media.

“It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later.”
