Funeral fundraiser for mum who died in fire

-

A CROWDFUNDING page has been set up to help pay for the funeral of a Hull mum-of-five who tragically died in a devastating house fire.

Samantha Mills, 31, went to a house party with six others at a property in Huddersfield when disaster struck in the early hours of March 23.

Six people were taken to hospital, but Ms Mills and a man, Reece Schofield, 24, tragically died days later.

An inquest into her death was opened at Bradford Coroners’ Court last week, where it was heard seven people entered the property in Clare Hill at around 5.30am before a blaze started 30 minutes later.

The court heard that Ms Mills and Mr Schofield were stuck in the attic while three others escaped to the roof.

Ms Mills, who was born in Hull, sadly died at Calderdale Royal Hospital in Halifax on March 26.

A gofundme page has been set up in a bid to raise £1,500 towards Ms Mills’ funeral and give her “the send-off she deserves”.

You can donate by visiting www.gofundme.com/f/pleasehelp-to-give-sammy-the-sendof-she-deserves

The page reads: “Sammy tragically lost her fight for life and she leaves behind her children and family.

“No family should ever have to go through what we are going through right now.

“Any donations will help towards her funeral and hopefully help to ease her children’s and family’s heartache at this very hard sad time.”

The inquest into Ms Mills’ death has been adjourned to a future date pending a criminal investigation.

Craig Collier, 34, of Clare Hill, has been charged with arson with intent to endanger life and perverting the course of justice.
