Manhunt after hospital escape

A MANHUNT is on after a man escaped from police custody in a Yorkshire hospital.

Ashley Gibson, 28, pictured, known as “Gibo”, evaded officers at Northern General Hospital in Sheffield on Monday, April 12.

His escape led to an appeal from South Yorkshire Police, which has been shared by Humberside Police, who believe “Gibo” could be within their jurisdiction.

South Yorkshire Police tweeted: “Ashley Gibson, 28, is wanted for escaping lawful custody after absconding from Northern General Hospital at 9.34pm on April 12. He has a tribal tattoo on his forearm, and ‘GIBO’ also tattooed on his arm. Have you seen him? Please call 101.”

Humberside Police also tweeted: “Mr Gibson could be in our area. If you see him, please contact South Yorkshire Police on 101.”
