No future for EU while ‘Brussels’ rules roost

-

I VOTED for us to join the EEC back in 1973, because I considered it to be by far and away the best future for this country.

Unfortunately, I was not to know, along with millions of other people in this country, that there was a thing called “Brussels” just over the horizon.

When I voted to leave the EU, it was simply because I no longer wanted to be a member of the organisation being peddled by “Brussels”.

I didn’t want to become a member of the United States of Europe and all the other “benefits” they were advocating.

What is interesting is the number of members of the EU, who have large communities who are also very anti-brussels, even voicing the possibility of their own form of Brexit.

I find the thought of a democratic EU operating without Brussels very intriguing; it would be like returning to the old EEC and that would be a very interesting proposition.

Sadly, as far as I am concerned, that will never be an option while “Brussels” rules the roost.
