Tears and tributes at balloon release in memory of Corey
FAMILY and friends of murder victim Corey Dobbe came together in the area where he died during an emotional balloon release.
Around 100 people came together at Harleston Close, near to Holderness Drain, where Corey, 23, was stabbed to death almost two weeks ago.
Among those who attended the event was Corey’s girlfriend Zoey Soltan, along with many close friends and family members.
Tributes were paid and a large number of balloons were released, including those that spelt out his name. Blue flares were also lit and fireworks let off as those closest to Corey still try to come to terms with his death.
People of all ages came to remember Corey and songs were sung during the event, which was more celebratory of the young man’s life rather than a sombre occasion.
Corey was stabbed to death close to Holderness Drain on Sunday, June 13, at around 7.10pm.
Last week, Humberside Police named Moise Djuku as a man they want to speak to in connection with Corey’s death. Meanwhile, Crimestoppers is now offering a £5,000 reward for information that leads to his apprehension.
Moise Djuku, seen in the CCTV image from the day of the murder dressed in a white hooded sweatshirt, white trousers, and trainers, is still believed to be in the Hull area. Despite emotional appeals from Corey’s family, the whereabouts and identity of his killer has remained unknown throughout the investigation with speculation that the perpetrator is being aided in his efforts to avoid capture.
