Home comfort Then a BIG finish
HULL KR 2022 FIXTURES
HULL KR fans are busy making plans for 2022 after Super League released the schedule for the new season.
As ever, there is plenty to digest as the competition returns to normality in a 27-round format.
Early home comforts
The Robins enjoyed some memorable nights under the lights at Craven Park in 2021, namely the wins over Wigan Warriors and Castleford Tigers.
Both teams will return to east Hull in February, two of three home games for Rovers in the opening four rounds.
It is not an easy start by any means – with fixtures against Huddersfield Giants and St Helens completing the set – but Tony Smith’s side enjoy home comforts and will relish the chance to get settled into the season in familiar surroundings.
Testing Easter
The bumper Easter weekend returns in 2022 and Rovers have been given a tough assignment.
KR host fierce rivals Hull FC on Good Friday before travelling to France to take on Toulouse Olympique on Easter Monday.
After celebrating the demise of the double-header weekend only two years ago, Smith will not be overly impressed with the hand his side have been dealt.
Triple threat
That Easter game at Stade Ernest Wallon is the first of two trips to Toulouse, in addition to a round six visit to Stade Gilbert Brutus to face Catalans Dragons.
While supporters will no doubt be rubbing their hands at the prospect of three trips to the south of France, a second home date with Toulouse would have been more advantageous. But there can be no complaints about the loop fixtures with the Robins taking on Wigan, Hull and Wakefield Trinity three times, as well as Toulouse and champions St Helens.
