Roads closed during Hull’s half marathon

-

THE Hull Half Marathon returns tomorrow with runners from across the city coming together for the third staging of the event.

The route begins in Cottingham Road, before heading up to Beverley Road and then down to the Avenues and back. A number of road closures will be taking place for the duration of the event.

Organised by Run For All with Hull City Council as part of the 2022 Hull Running Festival, the Half Marathon is one of two runs tomorrow – the other being the Hull 10km.

The Hull Half Marathon is a 13.1mile run around the Cottingham Road/beverley Road area of Hull that is open to novice runners and seasoned runners alike and starts at 9am.

The route will see runners start outside the University of Hull, before turning onto Hall Road and then onto Inglemere Lane. The runners will then turn onto Cranbrook Avenue, followed by Endike Lane and 21st Avenue.

Runners will then turn back onto Cranbrook Avenue, before heading onto Greenwood Avenue and looping around onto Beverley Road. Runners will then head back down Cranbrook Avenue and down towards Newland Avenue.

Runners will then complete a circuit of Pearson Park, before heading onto Goddard Avenue and up Chanterlands Avenue. The route then leads onto Kenilworth Avenue, before looping back around onto Cottingham Road where the run will conclude.

All of the above-mentioned roads plus some others will be closed for the duration of the race. A diversion map can be viewed at www.runforall.com

There will be no designated parking available for the Hull Half Marathon, but a “park and run” service will be in operation for entrants who have booked. Entrants are advised to arrive at Cottingham Road on foot, or alternatively by bike, with bike racks available at the event village Please note: road closures also apply to cyclists.
