Bus drivers recruitment event

EAST Yorkshire Buses (EYB) is hosting a recruitment open day tomorrow to invite aspiring bus drivers to join its team.

It is recruiting both trainee and experienced bus drivers based in Hull and surrounding areas. As a trainee, you will only need a full UK car driving licence and EYB will teach you how to drive a large vehicle.

The recruitment day will take place at MKM Stadium and attendees can pop in any time between 8.30am and 3.30pm. There are opportunities to apply for jobs on the day and take part in an informal interview. EYB encourages people to just come along to chat and ask questions to see what the job is all about.

There’s no need to book in advance for the event. If you attend to apply for a job, the company requests that you also bring along your car driving licence.

While applying for a job at the open day, interviewees will be asked to fill in a simple application form, followed by a short, informal interview with a member of the team and then a driving assessment in a van. If the interview all goes well, participants may be made a provisional job offer there and then.

Alternatively, participants can apply online at a later date using a bus driver application form and upon meeting the criteria, those who have applied will be invited to an assessment centre for the practical test.

The roles available are full-time, part-time and seasonal to suit all preferred working patterns.
