Your own private bar for World Cup

‘EXECUTIVE BOX’ COMPLETE WITH BEER KEGS

KICKS Bar & Grill, which opened in the summer, is preparing to host fans for the World Cup.

After recently opening its private hire executive box, owner Lucas Billingham invited Hull Live to take a look around its newest addition.

Opening three weeks ago, Lucas tells us it has already hosted three events at the space over the past few weekends.

It is not limited to social events either. With the widescreen smart TV available, the possibilities are there for an office to have a change of scenery but still get on with their work.

The reasoning for the addition so soon after opening its doors is simple, as Lucas explains. The space was initially used as a makeshift staff room and bag hold, rarely being used, but Lucas saw the potential in offering more space to customers.

He said: “We’re paying the rent on the full building, and with the room barely being used there was space that we could use more of. We have two Sky boxes but only one sound system, so up here we can play the opposite sound to what’s being played downstairs.”

Despite the “private hire” tag, any customer is free to head upstairs with their pint to watch the sport in a smaller environment should it be free.

However, to book the suite, punters are required to pay £350 for the room on non-matchdays. This covers one keg – 88 pints – and freedom of the room.

The Qatar World Cup hosted over December is going to cause headaches for many of the hospitality industry, with potential clashes with Christmas bookings.

For this reason, Kicks is asking for a £1,000 deposit for hiring the space during the Three Lions’ matches, which will offer two kegs of house beer and a buffet. If that’s not enough, customers can use the QR code to place an order with the bar downstairs which will be brought up to them.

Located in Paragon Street, Kicks’ opening hours are noon until 10pm Monday to Thursday, and noon until 2am on Fridays. On Saturdays, it is open from 10am to 2am, and on Sundays, it is open from 10am to 9pm.
