Reynolds is linked with move to City
HULL City will be in the market for defensive reinforcements when the transfer window reopens next month.
One player who has been linked with a move to the MKM Stadium is Bryan Reynolds.
City are said to be keen on signing the Roma full-back.
The 21-year-old is expected to leave the Italian club this summer after spending the season on loan at Westerlo.
Reynolds has caught the eye in Belgium’s top division.
It has been claimed that Roma have already rejected an initial bid from Westerlo for the US international.
A report in The Athletic claims West Ham United are among the clubs interested in signing Reynolds.
Italian news outlet Calciomercato suggested City, Swansea City and Queens Park Rangers were all in the hunt for the player’s signature last month.
Reynolds, who can also operate on the right side of midfield, has made 32 appearances for Westerlo this season.
He spent the end of the 2021-22 campaign on loan at Kortrijk in Belgium.
Reynolds started his career at FC Dallas. He featured 31 times for the Major League Soccer side before heading to Roma in a big-money deal in 2021.
City are not short of options on the right hand side of their defence. Cyrus Christie is Liam Rosenior’s first-choice right-back, with Lewie Coyle filling in well for Christie when the Republic of Ireland international missed the final few months of the season due to injury.
City recently exercised their one-year option on Coyle.
Given Christie and Coyle are currently on the Tigers’ books heading into next season, it would be a surprise if the Championship club were Reynolds’ destination. It is more likely to be the centre-half position that City strengthen should they manage to offload Tobias Figueiredo as Rosenior looks to reshape his squad.
