Hull fly-tippers named
More residents prosecuted for dumping their rubbish
FOUR more Hull residents have been prosecuted for fly-tipping waste in cases brought by Hull City Council.
The offenders were all convicted in their absence by Hull magistrates, during March. They have picked up court bills totalling more than £2,700, which include compensation, victim surcharges, fines and costs.
The successful prosecutions were made under the Refuse Disposal (Amenity) Act 1978 against the following:
■■Chloe Goudie, of Mayfield Avenue, Hull, ordered to pay fines and costs totalling £678.
■■Emma Louise Stubbins, of Garrowby Walk, Hull, ordered to pay fines and costs totalling £703.
■■Simon Charles Green, of Woburn Street, Hull, ordered to pay fines and costs totalling £703.
■■Sophie Louise Musgrave, of Brecon Street, Hull, ordered to pay fines and costs totalling £653.
Doug Sharp, head of street cleansing and waste management at Hull City Council, said: “Fly-tipping is a crime and we do not tolerate it in Hull. It is unsightly, harmful to human health and damaging to the environment.
“The council urges residents to dispose of their waste in the correct way using our accessible services, schemes, and household waste centres across the city. We also encourage residents to report those who do not dispose of their waste legally.”
