TOP OPPOSITION WILL BE STEP UP IN CLASS FOR KR

WITH five wins from seven games this season, it’s been a good start for Hull KR.

After a little wobble in the middle, Rovers have recovered and head into April off the back of three comfortable victories.

The Robins have ticked the boxes so far, but as a new month arrives, April promises to bring more challenges and thoroughly examine their credentials as silverware contenders.

The league table hasn’t settled yet, but it is still an indication.

Rovers, placed fifth, have only played one of the four sides above them this season, and they lost.

For all the good they’ve done so far, there’s still plenty to prove.

The month starts with London Broncos and, with the greatest respect to the side from the capital, we won’t learn a great deal about Rovers this week.

The job on Friday is to reinforce that complacency isn’t a problem.

But after that, the month will be the best indication yet of where Rovers are at and what they could achieve this year.

It begins with a Challenge Cup clash against Leigh Leopards which, naturally, is a pivotal game in their quest to win one of the major trophies.

Leigh have had a poor start to the season, but they remain a capable side who may have some star players back by then,

Regardless, it’s a Challenge Cup quarter-final, it’s a big game in dictating how Rovers’ season is judged.

After that, Catalans Dragons and Wigan Warriors await.

The pair are a step up in competition and will be able to challenge the Robins in a way others haven’t been able to do at this stage. Beating Catalans in Perpignan is no easy feat – the Robins have lost their last seven outings there, while the challenge that comes with facing Wigan Warriors, the Super

League and World Club champions, tells you all you need to know. The Robins have done well so far; make no mistake about that, but April will have a large say in how their title credentials are perceived.
