Another day, another rumour as Diarra is linked to the Tigers

-

TRANSFER speculation is hotting up as we approach the final couple of weeks of a thrilling campaign with Hull City linked with another potential summer transfer swoop.

Fresh from speculation the Tigers are eyeing up a move for Oxford United’s in-form winger Josh Murphy, City have been credited with an interest in Huddersfield midfielder Brahima Diarra who is expected to play for his country at this summer’s Olympic Games in Paris.

The Mali Under-23 international is just 20 and is out of contract at the John Smith’s Stadium this summer and has so far been unable to agree terms on an extension to his deal, though owing to his age, Town would be entitled to compensation, should he decide to leave.

Diarra, who was born in Paris, joined the Terriers’ academy in July 2019 and has amassed 21 outings in the Championship this term as the West Yorkshire side battle to retain their place in the second tier, collecting two assists with one of those coming against City when Liam Rosenior’s side won 2-1 in dramatic fashion back in February.

Reports in Belgium suggest City, along with West Brom, Leicester and Bristol City are interested along with a flurry of clubs in both Belgium and Portugal.

The Foxes and Baggies were both linked strongly with the powerful box-to-box midfielder in January, but he remained at the John Smith’s Stadium, though it now appears his future will be away from Huddersfield.

City will be keen to bolster their midfield ranks in the summer, with Tyler Morton heading back to Liverpool to be assessed by the Reds’ new manager along with Fabio Carvalho, while Greg Docherty’s option year is coming to an end and no agreement struck yet on extending his stay at the MKM.
