Pottery Session at Primrose House

-

Despite the gloomy weather, Primrose House residents refused to let the rain dampen their spirits as they embarked on a flower-themed pottery adventure. With gardening plans temporarily on hold, residents found themselves shaping clay into beautiful floral creations, keeping the spirit of nature alive within the home.

Using bowls lined with clingfilm to maintain the bowl shape as the clay dried residents eagerly immersed themselves in the art of pottery, moulding petals and leaves with precision and care. Drawing inspiration from a variety of flower examples, they explored different shapes and textures.

As they shaped the clay, residents used a mix of tools and their fingers to achieve desired shapes and textures. Crafting with purpose brought a sense of fulfilment and pride, boosting self-esteem and fostering a sense of accomplishment among all participants.

Though the process was messy, residents revelled in the joy of creation. As the clay creations dried over the weekend, anticipation mounted for the next step: painting. Residents eagerly began adding vibrant hues to their pottery masterpieces, knowing that soon these trinket bowls will find a place of honour in their rooms, serving as both functional and beautiful reminders of their creative spirit.
