Eight drivers banned by Hull magistrate­s in the last week

and drug drivers, motorists caught driving whilst disqualifi­ed and people refusing to provide specimens of breath have all been sentenced by magistrate­s in Hull in recent days.

Offenders from across Hull and East Yorkshire were given driving bans, hefty fines and orders to pay costs at Hull Magistrate­s’ Court last week. Here are eight of the most recent driving offences heard by magistrate­s in Hull.

Shaun Hunter, 54, of 21st Avenue, Hull, pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle whilst unfit through drugs. He was disqualifi­ed from driving for 16 months, fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecutio­n Service.

Ria Ransom, 29, of Setting Crescent, Hull, pleaded guilty to driving whilst over the legal alcohol limit. She was disqualifi­ed from driving for three years, fined £150, ordered to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecutio­n Service and a £60 victim services surcharge.

Matthew Fox, 39, of Astley Street, Hull, pleaded guilty to driving whilst over the legal alcohol limit. He was disqualifi­ed from driving for 17 months, fined £120, ordered to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecutio­n Service and a £48 victim services surcharge.

Peter Roberts, 55, of Gee Street, Hull, pleaded guilty to driving whilst disqualifi­ed, driving without insurance and driving without a licence. He was disqualifi­ed from driving for a further 12 months, given a community order with a rehabilita­tion activity requiremen­t and fined £120. He was also ordered to pay a victim services surcharge of £114 and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecutio­n Service. Brandon Smith, 21, of Rustenburg Street, Hull, pleaded guilty to driving whilst disqualifi­ed and driving without insurance. He was jailed for 12 weeks, disqualifi­ed from driving for 60 months and ordered to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecutio­n Service.

Louise Thompson Ball, 32, of Ivy Close, Howden, pleaded guilty to driving whilst disqualifi­ed and driving without insurance. She was disqualifi­ed from driving for six

months, fined £200, ordered to pay £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecutio­n Service and a £80 victim services surcharge.

Elwira Szotek, 51, of Sotheron Street, Goole, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath after having been asked by police to do so. She was disqualifi­ed from driving for two years.

David Ayre, 58, of De Grey Terrace, Bridlingto­n, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a specimen of breath after having been asked by police to do so. He was disqualifi­ed from driving for 18 months, fined £250, ordered to pay a £100 victim services surcharge and £85 in costs to the Crown Prosecutio­n Service.
