Import files from Evernote into Notes

Ditch Evernote and import its files into the Notes app on your IOS device instead

-

One of the most improved apps in recent years is Notes which today is one of the most powerful tools of its kind. It has made drawings a key part of its offering, introduced vast improvements to its text formatting, added support for tables and thrown in lines and grids for good measure. With pinned notes and great Pencil integration on the ipad, it stands to reason that you may want to use it more often.

But what if you’ve already got a bunch of notes elsewhere, most notably Evernote? Well, Apple has made it easy to import files exported from that third-party app. What’s more you can do so in one go, with the .enex file containing all of your selected notes which are then neatly formatted and placed in a folder for later organisation. Here’s how it’s done…

4 Open Mail app

Now open the Mail app on your iphone and find the email containing the .enex file. Touch and hold this file until you see the share menu and tap the icon ‘Add to Notes’.

5 Agree to import

You will be prompted to import the notes into the Notes app. Tap ‘Import Notes’ and wait while the notes are copied over. The prompt disappears when complete.

6 Read your notes

Open the Notes app. The notes you have selected and sent from Evernote will be placed in their own folder called ‘Imported Notes’. Tap this to view and read them..
