Top 5 apps for selling items

Got unwanted items you would like to turn into hard cash? Then try these apps.

-

ebay

this is the most popular app for turning unwanted items into cash and for good reason – it is very easy to use. Using your iphone and the ebay app is far more convenient than using your Mac as you can scan barcodes of items and all of the information is inputted for you. All you have to do is add text to the description and upload images. So simple.

musicmagpie

this service isn’t just restricted to music: you can sell DVDS, books and games as well. All you have to do is choose what item you are selling, scan the barcode and you will be offered a price. then just complete the transaction and post your items to be credited the funds. the prices you get might not be as much as you’d hoped, but you are guaranteed the cash at least.

Gumtree

Gumtree differs from the other selling services because your items are listed locally, so buyers can collect. Selling your items through the app is quick and easy – just tap ‘Post’ and then you can add in all of the basic info and images. One extra step lets you choose your location as well as a contact email and phone number before you can hit the ‘Post Ad’ button to get it listed.

Facebook

Many of us overlook Facebook’s Marketplace but it makes perfect sense. You can list items and sell them locally, advertising the item to all of your circles at the same time. All you have to do is tap on the Marketplace icon at the bottom of the Facebook interface, tap ‘what are you selling?’, select a category and then input key details such as a description and price.

Shpock Boot Sale & Classifieds

Shpock is short for

‘Shop in your Pocket’. Like Facebook and Gumtree, Shpock specialises in local listings to help eradicate postage costs and listing items is easy – just tap ‘Sell’, enter a few quick details and then tap

‘Sell it’ to get it listed. A handy ‘New in your area’ link makes it easy to see the latest listings.
