Benq SW240 Photovue Photographic Monitor
£159.99/$399
The latest addition to Benq’s SW Photovue line of photo-editing monitors, the SW240 is a 24.1inch, entry-level monitor with a 1080p, 10-bit IPS display that is designed to make photo-editing as precise as possible. The screen boasts 99% Adobe RGB coverage, has a hot-key for switching between colour modes and features an advanced Black & White mode. You can also purchase an optional shading hood separately or grab the two as a bundle.
Pinpoint precision
This monitor is ideal for photo editors craving a little extra vertical screen space (for whom a higher resolution or larger display either isn’t practical in the workspace or economically viable) and the 1920x1200 resolution makes it a perfect entry point. Not only does this monitor’s 24.1inch screen provide this resolution, it also focuses heavily on colour accuracy.
The monitor comes with factory-calibrated Adobe RGB and SRGB colour spaces and the hot-key lets you cycle between these or alternative settings quickly and easily. And when you need to pull back slightly from the intensity of your work, the screen also employs a flickerfree LED backlight and includes Low Blue Light (LBL) settings to help you relax. Also boasting a good ergonomic range of viewing angles, tilts and swivels, the SW240 is great value for money.
Verdict
A fantastic entry-level photo monitor, the SW240 is heavily stacked with all of the essential tools a pro photo editor requires and works brilliantly for general Mac use as well.
