Dynaudio’s Music 7 is the pinnacle of its home audio systems, a huge monolithic slab of a speaker designed to take centre stage in your largest room. It doesn’t matter where you place it in your largest room because the Music 7 uses digital signal processing (DSP) to sense exactly where it has been placed in the room and optimises its performance to fit the space. Even if you move it, the balance is addressed and the audio is tailored to suit the conditions, adjusting itself for varying noise levels. It’s a clever slab.
Multipurpose
Inside the speaker are two one-inch tweeters, two three-inch midrange drivers and twin fiveinch woofers. Combined they certainly pack a punch, projecting the sound out to every corner so that no matter where you sit to appreciate it, the impact never lessened. The unit also features an HDMI connection with Audio Return Channel, so you can use it as a soundbar for your TV (it comes with an optional wall bracket).
You can connect to the Music 7 via Bluetooth from your Mac or IOS device or you can connect it to your Wi-fi network and enjoy nine months of free streamed music from Tidal, via the Dynaudio Music app. Controlling the unit can be done from your device, the supplied remote or via the buttons on top of the speaker. We particularly loved the motion sensors that automatically turn the speaker on when they sense you moving your hands above it, as if beckoning it awake.
In terms of sound quality, the Music 7 is up there with the very best and deserves consideration if you are looking for a richsounding speaker that delivers what you pay for.
