Key features 100W • LED lights and strobes • Bluetooth party speaker Learn more kitsound.co.uk Available from kitsound.co.uk We’re sure that many products that proclaim to be ‘party’ speakers offer little more than wireless connectivity, portability and a decent quality of sound. Well Kitsound’s Slam XL Bluetooth party speaker has all of that, plus LED lights and strobes. It’s got everything you need to bring the music and the mood to your gatherings.

Set the mood

The unit itself is reminiscent of an 80s ghetto blaster but with a little extra depth and lots of power – 100 watts to be precise. Encased in the durable shell (which is probably splash-resistent to booze and puke) are two five-inch full-range drivers that blast out those party beats at full force. But what’s a party without atmospheric lighting, right? Well the Slam XL lights up like your high street illuminations when you power it on, but a row of buttons along the top also allow you to activate Chill mode (fixed colour, gently pulsing lights), Party mode (lights that beat in time with the music and constantly change colour) and the strobes to really help elevate your party to a whole new level. It all works fantastically well, but what we really liked about the Slam XL is that it features a chunky rubber handle on the back that makes you feel like a rock roadie when you’re transporting it around!

This speaker is very easy to connect to your Mac or IOS device and is discoverable over Bluetooth as soon as you power it on up to a range of 30 metres – so you can play DJ while throwing shapes on the dancefloor. It would have been nice to be able to control the lighting remotely, but this shouldn’t detract from what is a loud and visually captivating speaker.
