Inside an Apple Premium Reseller

This month we dropped in on Stormfront to discover what being an Apple Premium Reseller entails and which Apple products proved most popular over Christmas

-

Whether you’re looking to upgrade old devices, test-drive the latest Apple hardware or splash out on some great accessories to compliment your gear, Stormfront undoubtedly has a store nearby with a friendly team of experts on hand to assist, advise and answer all of your questions. With 23 stores across the

UK, Stormfront is an authorised Apple Premium Reseller, which means that it stocks a wide range of Apple products and accessories, including the latest Macs, IOS devices, Watches and Apple TV units. So if you want to check out the power of imac Pro first-hand to road-test it and see if it meets your professional needs, then this is the place to come.

Showcasing the full Apple product line in a customer-friendly environment, Stormfront’s stores provide a welcoming drop-in centre to get up to speed with the latest Apple tech, with demo units on hand to get tactile with and in-house Tech Bars to assist with any software- or hardwarerelated issues. As Stormfront is also an Authorised Service Provider, each store employs a team of trained technicians – all certified by Apple – to assist you if your device isn’t behaving as expected. Most software issues can be diagnosed and resolved in-store, but if the problem is deep-rooted in the hardware and cannot be fixed on site then your device will be sent to the main Service Centre for further testing and repair – with most fixes turned around in five to seven working days. But how do you know that your hardware is in safe hands? Simple, the Service Repair Centre is subject to

regular Apple quality control to ensure that the highest standards in customer care are maintained at all times.

Repeat offenders

So what are the most common problems that customers experience with their new hardware? We asked Matt Warman, service centre manager at Stormfront, to divulge.

“The most common issue with Macs is usually to do with the machine booting up to macos. Customers typically experience a multitude of different errors, ranging from the machine showing a flashing folder icon (which typically means that the computer cannot find the startup system, perhaps as a result of the files needed to boot being damaged) to the machine crashing when logging into the customer’s user account.”

So what care can people take in order to help to eradicate possible Mac software issues? “Regular data back ups, regular updates, when available, and shutting the machine down regularly. Keeping the machine off of any uneven surfaces that cover the vents and restrict air flow to aid cooling is also recommended.”

Apple products purchased through Stormfront come with a three-year guarantee, meaning all of your repairs are covered during this period, and any device you buy also comes with 90 days of complimentary telephone support to help get you up and running and more au fait with exactly what your Apple products are capable of. If you also check out stormfront.co.uk then you’ll be able to read all about the numerous other services that Stormfront offers, including 100 onehour, one on one in-store training sessions for an annual subscription fee of £79.

Bestselling tech

It’s pleasing to know that you can get this level of customer care on the high street, and if you don’t live near an Apple Store then you can rest assured that a Stormfront store won’t be too far away that is packed with the very latest devices. So what were the big sellers over the festive period? According to Stormfront’s marketing manager, Anna Ambrose, “The best-selling Apple products over the Christmas period were ipads, Airpods and Watches. Not only did these make great gifts, the choice of price points also meant that there was something for everyone.”

With 2019 looking to become another groundbreaking year in terms of Apple pushing its computer and mobile technology to even loftier heights, what is Stormfront particularly looking forward to from Apple in the months ahead? Anna’s response was broad, but assured: “More innovations and cutting-edge technology from the biggest brand in the world.” That’s a pretty safe bet.
