Noise types

Chrominanc­e noise is especially ugly as it manifests as blotches of green and purple pixels, which is especially noticeable in smooth areas such as a sky. Luminance noise shows up as greyscale specks. A photo’s colours are created by mixing red, green and blue channels together. Noise is most apparent in the red channel.
