Master Finder tags
Use advanced tags and searches
Customise Finder tags
Click a tag to rename it or click the ‘+’ button to add a new tag. Name it and colour it. Tick tags to show them in Finder’s sidebar and click them to filter files by tag.
Apply tags
Tags can be added by clicking them at the bottom of the Finder menu, but the Edit Tags toolbar button is easier. Click to add or delete tags attached to files or folders.
Use logical operators
Search for a tag by starting with ‘tag:’ and use the logical operators AND, OR and NOT between two tags to apply advanced filters to the file list and show the files you want.
Show the tags
Coloured blobs mean little, and adding the Tags column to List view enables tags to be viewed and sorted. Ctrl+click a column header to add the Tags column to the Finder view.
