Create an app

Automator enables

Mac apps to be created very simply and easily without any programming required. Select the action you want from the library and then drag it to the right side of the window.

Change Appearance

This Change Appearance action is new to macos Mojave and has three options: Light Mode, Dark Mode and Toggle Light/ Dark. When this is saved it becomes a simple app you can run.

Custom alert

Use the Custom alert option to open a file at the scheduled event time and run the Toggle Dark Mode app. This means Dark Mode is enabled at night and Light Mode in the day.

Create daily events

To automatically switch the macos Mojave theme from light to dark or dark to light mode, create two Calendar events that are repeated every day, one in the morning and one in the evening.
