Edit screenshots via Finder

One of the main reasons for having a screenshot preview is to allow for the quick editing of the resulting images. Preventing previews from appearing doesn’t affect the availability of this useful option.

1 Find the file

Locate the screenshot within the Finder app and click once to highlight it. Now press the spacebar to activate Mojave's Quick Look feature. The screenshot will appear.

2 Click to edit

Select the circled pen from the icons at the top of the Quick Look window and the editing functions of the screenshot utility will be available to you. Click ‘Done’ when complete.
