Text and HTML

Textedit makes a useful plain text editor and the type of document can be selected on the Format menu. However, plain text can be set as the default. Open Text edit > preferences and on the New Document tab select ‘Plain text’. To edit HTML files click the ‘Open and Save’ tab and select ‘Display HTML files as HTML code’.
