Secretly read a status

If you have 3D Touch enabled on your iphone then any updates that appear in the Status tab can be read in secret. All you have to do is 3D Touch the update to see a preview and Whatsapp will not only open it but will refrain from sending a read receipt, which means the blue ticks won’t appear. You’ll then be free to reply at your convenience.
