Connect using a cable

If your Apple TV has a USB-C port (this was axed in the 4K model) then you can connect it to your Mac using a USB-C to USB cable. Insert the small end into the USB-C socket and the other into your Mac. Then launch Quicktime Player, select File> New Movie Recording and click the downward arrow to the right of the red record button. Choose ‘Apple TV’.
