Setting up group email on IOS
Setting up a group to send emails to on IOS is a tedious affair that involves lots of copying and pasting. The process can be made easier if you have access to a Mac because you can
copy and paste email addresses straight from Contacts into Notes. But even if you have already created a group on your Mac, this is bafflingly inaccessible from your IOS device.
1 Open Notes
Write or copy and paste the email addresses of everyone to be in the group into a Notes document. Separate each address with a comma and tap ‘Done’.
2 Add addresses
Press and hold on a blank area of the screen and release to bring up a floating toolbar. Tap ‘Select All’, then ‘Copy’. You can now leave Notes and launch Contacts.
3 Create new contact
Tap on the ‘+’ icon to create a new contact then, in the ‘Last name’ or ‘Company’ fields, enter the name of the email group. Scroll to the ‘Notes’ section.
4 Add in notes
Tap on the ‘Notes’ section and tap ‘Paste’ to copy in the list of email addresses – it can be handy to have them all in one accessible place. Scroll up to ‘add email’.
5 Paste addresses
Tap the green ‘+’ to add an email address and tap in the field and choose ‘Paste’ to copy in the email addresses. When you’ve finished, tap ‘Done’.
6 Send group email
To send the group email, open Contacts, select your group and tap on the blue ‘mail’ icon. This will open Mail and automatically create a new email.
