Stay secure on Facebook
There are many pitfalls to avoid when using FB
Beware fraudsters Facebook is a prime target for fraudsters thanks to its popularity so be vigilant at all times. Even completing what seems like a fun questionnaire on Facebook asking for your first school or favourite colour could help someone build a complete profile of you. Vet friend requests
Only ever add real friends if you are using Facebook for personal reasons. If you are running a business through Facebook that is different, but for personal usage there is no reason why someone you do not know would want to friend you. Withhold details
Don’t give too many apps or games access to your Facebook profile. It may be that you are protecting your security information directly in Facebook, but you could be unwittingly giving these details to rogue developers who could use them for the wrong reasons.
Check security
Go to https://www.facebook. com/security/checkup/ and run the Security Checkup tool. This is a simple method of making sure that only your devices are logged into your account and that you have not left other devices logged in needlessly.
Add your number
Make sure you add your mobile number to your account in the settings screen. This will not only allow you to make changes when out and about, but it will let you recover your account very quickly if hackers ever get hold of it.
