After updating to IOS 13, sometimes when I try to load Safari websites they just appear as blank pages. Why?
This was a widely reported problem when IOS 13 was first released and subsequent bugfix updates have helped to eradicate the issue (go to Settings>general>software Update and make sure you are running the latest version). However, if the problem persists then there are a few workarounds for you to try that we have outlined here.
1 Blank screens
If you are faced with a blank screen when trying to load a website in Safari then the most obvious starting point is to close the tab and then relaunch the site again. But there are other solutions.
2 Switch to cellular
You may be able to fix the problem by swiping up to activate your Control Centre and then tapping the Wi-fi icon to disable your wireless connection and make use of your mobile data. This isn’t ideal, though.
3 Launch Settings
If you have had no success so far then you may need to clear Safari’s accumulated data. Do this by launching your Settings app and then tapping on the ‘Safari’ option.
4 Clear website data
Scroll down the screen and you will see a highlighted options called ‘Clear History and Website Data’. Tapping on this will cause you to delete Safari’s history, cache and cookies.
5 Try another way
If you don’t want to delete your Safari history, you could try simply clearing your website data. To do this, go to Settings>safari>advanced>website Data and tap on the ‘Remove All Website Data’ option.
6 Confirm your choice
Either way you will be asked to confirm your action. You can now return to Safari and load the website again. If all goes to plan then the website should now display as normal.
