Record hands-free notes

While working from home, you can compose Whatsapp voice messages to send to your team by holding the microphone icon, dictating your message and then releasing to automatically send the message. But you can also do this hands-free.

Press and hold

Press and hold the microphone icon as you normally would to record a voice message and then, with your finger still pressing down, swipe up on the screen.

Lock the recording

A padlock icon will appear to indicate that your recording is locked into position. You can now remove your finger from the screen and continue to record your message.

Cancel or send

Tap the send icon to stop and forward the recording or tap ‘Cancel’ to delete it. Recording in the locked position reduces the risk of sending audio messages by mistake.

Pick an option

Choosing the ‘My Contacts’ option means that only users that you have in your address book can add you to groups. The ‘My Contacts Except’ option provides more control over this.
