Is it possible to edit Live Photos on my Mac? For example, can I turn them into GIFS?

- Steve Flores

Key photo

A Live Photo is a collection of consecutive frames. A key frame is automatically chosen to represent the Live Photo when viewed as a thumbnail. You can choose a key photo here in the Edit window.

Getting started

In Photos on your Mac, go to Albums>media Types and then click on the ‘Live Photos’ album to view your imported Live Photos. Select one and then click on the ‘Edit’ button.

Edit every frame

Although a Live Photo is really a mini movie, if you adjust the colours and tones when working with one frame, the adjustments will be applied to all of them.

Animation

Using this dropdown menu you can make the threesecond Live Photo loop continuously or bounce back and forth. Long exposure adds a motion blur to the end of the clip.
