Cleer Ally Plus ANC Headphones
£149.99/$149.99
WE RAVED ABOUT CLEER’S ALLY in-ear headphones back in issue 203 and, truth be told, not a lot has changed in the following year. This isn’t a bad thing though because the Ally Plus headphones maintain the same high standards while making a couple of subtle cosmetic alterations.
Touch sensitive controls
The earwings that helped keep the buds in place were deemed surplus to requirements and the charge case is a slightly different shape, but beyond that we’re squinting for differences. The Ally Plus earphones pair together as soon as they are removed from the case and become auto-detectable to your Mac or IOS device. Featuring Aptx technology and enclosed 10mm Neodymium drivers, the sound quality that they produce is magnificent which, along with the adaptable digital noise cancellation, keeps you engulfed in your own sonic world. Should you need to snap out of it and focus on the world around you, a single tap of the outer casing lets you switch from ANC to ambient mode or a double-tap pauses the music altogether.
The buds sit securely within your ears thanks to five different sizes of silicon tips and have an impressive ten-hour battery life. The case also holds a 20-hour charge so you’ll not have to worry about an impending sound of silence any time soon. Perfect for working out with, they also come with a IPX4 water resistance rating.
