SOUND SPECIALIST Audio Pro in as many months, we’re starting to get quite accustomed to the Scandinavian design, especially, the blissful, blanketing audio their speakers produce. Creating the Addon T3+ couldn’t have been easy either. Its predecessor, the Addon T3, won multiple awards, being the standout for many in the wireless speaker stakes. the trends dictate. But Audio Pro saw an opportunity to improve on the original and has made some canny refinements and released the Addon T3+ in a range of new colours, including a limited run of 300 lemon-coloured speakers – good luck on getting one of those; they look spanking!
With the Addon T3+, Audio Pro has refined the design for an even better sound. Twin 3/4-inch, 5W textile dome tweeters combined with a 3.5-inch,
15W woofer deliver a spine-tingling combination of gut-punching bass and clear, natural-sounding vocals. What’s particularly impressive about this is that the speaker is so small, measuring just 115 x 215 x 135mm.
Small wonder
A sound unit this compact should be designed to take anywhere, and the Addon T3+ certainly excels in this department. It is fashioned out of solid aluminium with
a handle made of genuine leather. It’s a rugged little beauty that is finished off nicely by a neat set of buttons on the top. The reflex port on the back has also been redesigned for optimised bass response.
How long?
Then there’s the small question of the battery life. On a full charge, it lasts for an incredible 30 hours at half volume, but if you can’t keep it down, then you still get an impressive 12 hours playback at maximum volume. A built-in USB interface on the back of the speaker also lets you charge up an iphone or ipad, making this the perfect travelling companion for those festivals and camping trips, or whatever the alternatives are in the current, pandemic-afflicted world! Audio Pro has always managed to maintain a distinct, custom sound with its speakers, and this is still very much in effect here. The redesigned reflex port does a fine job of supporting the low-end bass and then everything stacks up nicely through the register as the tweeters sparkle into life.
The effect is outstanding, with production values that you simply don’t find in speakers of this size and price point. Where you expect a rigid sheet of sound, you get a rippled coating with instruments seemingly appearing front or back of the speaker – which is quite an achievement when you consider the size of this thing. That’s precision right there.
