Noto – Elegant Note
The popular note-taking app, updated and improved
ALREADY OFFERING FAR MORE FUNCTIONALITY THAN APPLE’S
NOTES APP, Noto has recently enjoyed a significant update to make it even easier to create notes, customise them however you like and find key information in an instant.
The latest Mac version introduces GIF support and a new widget, but there are also key enhancements across the Apple ecosystem too, such as Scribble mode support for ipados 14. All of your notes sync across icloud, so it is well worth downloading the mobile counterparts to this desktop app to get the most out of the service. Although you can access the base features for free, you must pay for a Pro subscription (a lifetime fee of £24.99 is recommended) to add photos, tables, documents, lock notes, etc.
Even if you’re using the app for free though, you can still enjoy a wide range of formatting tools, organise your notes with gestures and utilise a dark mode. What we particularly like is that you can actually see your notes in the sidebar, rather than having to view them as a list with one or two lines of preview text. You can also drag and drop them to reorder them how you see fit. If you click on the ‘…’ icon in the sidebar, then you can add colour-coded folders that also sit in the sidebar for you to drag notes into to keep everything organised.
